This solo exhibition will become the 111st exhibition at Art Gallery M84. In Japan, exhibitions of foreign photographers that are active today, are few and rare. Based in New York and working between Los Angeles and London, Gavin Bond is one of the most famous photographers in the world. Combining sexiness, refined mood, smiles that fascinate the viewer, modern taste and good old Hollywood charm, his shots fascinate the viewer with their unique concepts and remain in one’s memory.

This fascination is originated in the special connection that he has with his models. Many of his celebrity clients, such as Jennifer Aniston, Jack Black, Jessica Alba, George Clooney, U2, The Killers, Rihanna, Sacha Baron Cohen, Kings of Leon, ACDC, Muse and others, are his active partners. With Bond’s ability to create friendly atmosphere on the spot, sharp observation skills and fanciful imagination, he is able to grasp and reveal the real personality, as well as accentuate the individuality of the celebrity models, showing the other side of the persona.

Gavin Bond started his career as a backstage photographer at international runway shows and has build mutually trusted relationships with many respected designers and supermodels. Photographing different fashion scenes around the world, he regularly contributes for the Australian Vogue and the American Marie Claire. Victoria’s Secret Shows, The Golden Globe Awards, Q Awards and others - his backstage shots have a sense of reportage photography as well. In this exhibition, 24 of his carefully selected works, including 12 photographs from the Victoria’s Secret backstage photo series “Back Stage” exhibiting for the first time in Japan, will be included.
