2x 20 years !
A double anniversary for Galerie Esther Woerdehoff and Paris Photo
Celebrating 20 years of photography!
The 20th anniversary of the gallery comes just at the right time for the 20th edition of Paris Photo. It is indeed in 1996 that Esther Woerdehoff Gallery opened its doors in Paris. Only a few months later, we took part in the first edition of Paris Photo at the Carrousel du Louvre. The fair and the gallery have grown up since and remained faithful, meeting up each November for this unmissable event.
To celebrate this double anniversary, to honor our artists, and - finally - to thank you, our dear collectors, journalists and friends, we will present a unique program in the Grand Palais.
The artists we will expose deal with themes that have guided the evolution of the gallery over the years - the unica in photography, a search for technical excellence and emotion in art - in an aesthetic we particularly cherish: large landscapes. We also have the pleasure to present an exclusive new series of Elene Usdin, amazing portraits that combine photography and painting.
Black and white mountains embroidered with colorful thread, palladium prints of snow and ice, traces of colonial architecture swallowed by time, fantastical portraits or spectacular cityscapes, the works on our booth for Paris Photo 2016 will show the diversity of contemporary photography through the eyes of our photographers: Iris Hutegger, Jens Knigge, Gail Albert Halaban, Elene Usdin and Thomas Jorion.
