Announcing Participating Galleries & Premieres Unseen, the annual celebration of new photography, returns to Amsterdam’s Westergasfabriek from the 18th until the 21st of September with a sharp focus on work that has never been seen before.

Unseen is the international photography fair and festival that focuses on new photography talent and unseen work by established photographers. Managing Director of Unseen, Sasha Stone (1984): “This year, we have challenged galleries to present work that has been created since 2012. Unseen Photo Fair 2014 will unveil the important developments that are taking place in the world of contemporary photography. Through placing talents on the map and highlighting new work by renowned artists, visitors will discover the unseen.”

Unseen is proud to introduce premieres at Unseen Photo Fair 2014. Work is considered a premiere if it has not previously been shown in a gallery, an institution or online. Unseen will mark the exclusive introduction of this work. Amongst others, premieres have been confirmed by Gallery Taik Persons (FI), the renowned gallery specialising in Finnish photography presenting a premiere of Santeri Tuori (1970); young Dutch galleries, BoetzelaerINispen and Ton de Boer will be showing new work by a strong selection of Dutch talents, respectively Maurice van Es (1984) and Ruth van Beek (1977); Grundemark Nilsson Gallery (DE) will present a premiere of the Swedish photographer JH Engström (1969) who will also have a solo exhibition at Foam Photography Museum Amsterdam coinciding with Unseen; and Galerie van der Mieden (BE) will show a premiere of the acclaimed photographer from Dusseldorf, Martina Sauter (1974).
